A little background for those who don't know me I have been a member of the Indonesian National Golf Team since 2014 and played college golf at Keiser University.

For the longest time, I believed that passion was a singular pursuit—one defining interest that shapes our path. However, life has a way of proving otherwise. Recently, I rediscovered a passion I had set aside: competitive golf. This realization came in December when I started practicing again in preparation for the Indonesian Women’s Open, held from January 24-26. The experience was more than just a return to the game; it was a homecoming to something that has always been a part of me.

Competing in the Indonesian Women’s Open was a humbling and exhilarating experience. I was fortunate to qualify through a preliminary event, which in itself was a significant milestone after being away from the sport for over a year and a half. The time away wasn’t wasted—I had dedicated myself to another passion: Data Science. Pursuing my Master of Science in Data Science at the University of Miami has been an incredible journey, filled with learning, research, and discovery. But stepping back onto the golf course, competing at a high level again, made me realize that my love for the sport had never faded. It had simply been waiting for the right moment to reignite.

The challenge now is to find a balance between these two seemingly different worlds. Golf and Data Science may not share many obvious intersections, but both require discipline, strategic thinking, and continuous growth. As I move forward, my goal is to integrate both into my life. Playing golf as a touring professional while advancing my career in Data Science might seem ambitious, but I am determined to make it work.

This journey will require careful time management, unwavering commitment, and a willingness to embrace both fields fully. I am excited to explore ways to harmonize my passions, making use of the analytical mindset from Data Science to enhance my approach to golf, and perhaps even finding opportunities where the two disciplines overlap.

If there’s one lesson I’ve learned from this experience, it’s that passion is not a singular path—it’s a mosaic of interests that can coexist. Life is too short to choose just one when you can pursue them all. Here’s to the next chapter—where golf and Data Science go hand in hand.
